Claire de Vries
The Journey.
Claire de Vries is a skilled filmmaker and marketer, with a passion for creative storytelling. Driven by her passion for film, Claire has produced, directed, written, edited, and starred in several numerous works. Her works have been featured and received awards in festivals ranging from the Top Shorts, Lightworks, and Cans Film Festivals to the Toronto International Women's Film Festival and Chicago Indie Film Awards.
Claire is currently working as an HBO Max Development Intern for Warner Brothers, composing script coverage and creating dailies for current productions. Prior she was a Development Intern assisting with development and research projects for Panoramic Media, founded by former MGM and current Miramax President Jonathan Glickman. In addition, she served as a Production Assistant at Atlantic Pictures in New York, providing support onset and across the pre- and post-production process. She was also a Video and Content Development Assistant for film composer Christopher North, creating marketing and sales strategies and content.
As President and a Producer for M-agination at the University of Michigan, she oversees pre-production, creative vision, production, and post-production for U-Mich's nationally recognized student film production organization. In this role, she also serves as an advisor to directors and producers on multiple student film projects; organizes and leads workshops, and networking events for the organization's over 100 members; facilitates collaboration between students and industry professionals through guest speaker events and panel discussions, and manages the annual student film festival.
Claire also enjoys being in front of the camera and has trained and performed with leading organizations including The Acting Studio, the Stella Adler Conservatory, the University of Michigan, Stratford Ontario’s Shakespeare Company, Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre, and Shakespeare Royal Oak.
An Honors Film, Television, and Media Student at the University of Michigan, Claire previously attended Kalamazoo College where she participated in their nationally-recognized Study Abroad program, studying film at the American University of Rome. She also attended the New York Arts Program, gaining first-hand experience and training in film and creative content production.
When not making films and studying, Claire often spends her free time around horses. A skilled equestrian, she competes in eventing and show jumping. She also loves traveling, reading, yoga, and enjoying a good meal with family and friends.
